IntroducingMahmood Sharifi-Hosseini
Mahmood (known as Mo), completed a BSc (Hons) degree in 1996. He qualified as a Podiatrist at the Chelsea School of Chiropody, then part of the University of Westminster. In the course of his practice he held variety of positions in the NHS hospitals in London, Scholls, Boots and Sole Solutions in Eastbourne.
He has been serving Meads community and Eastbourne area, providing podiatry and chiropody care for over 20 years.
Mo has a particular interest in biomechanical assessment of the foot and lower limb, treatment of sports injuries and helping children with foot and postural problems. This includes advising on suitable footwear and the provision of remedial simple insoles, functional and custom-made orthotics (arch supports).
In the field of surgery, he has developed expertise in the treatment of in-growing toenails (full or partial nail removal ) under local anaesthetic.
In 2007 Mo completed a postgraduate training in diabetic foot complications enabling him to provide expert treatments for patients with complications of diabetes, including Diabetic screening, ulcer management and provision of specialised diabetic footwear.
